Angel One (SmartAPI)

Connect Angel One using SmartAPI key, client ID, password, and TOTP login.

Navigation: Brokers › Add new Account › Angel One (SmartAPI)

Prerequisites (Angel One SmartAPI)

  • Active Angel One trading account
  • Enable SmartAPI on the Angel One developer portal
  • Create an app and copy the API Key
  • Enable TOTP on your Angel One account (required for login)
  • Have your Client ID, trading password, and current TOTP code ready
  • No OAuth redirect URL — login uses SmartAPI password + TOTP flow
Password and TOTP

Your Angel One password and TOTP are used only for the login request to obtain tokens. They are not stored on ATPAlgo servers.

Step 1 — Open Add Broker and name the account

  1. Go to Brokers › Add new Account (open Add Broker).
  2. Enter a display name and click Next.

Step 2 — Select Angel One

  1. Select Angel One from the broker grid (must be enabled for your tenant).
  2. Click Next.

Step 3 — Enter SmartAPI credentials

  1. Enter API Key (from SmartAPI portal).
  2. Enter Client ID.
  3. Enter Password and current TOTP token.
  4. Click Next.

Step 4 — Login to SmartAPI

  1. Click Login to AngelOne.
  2. Wait for Authenticated status (JWT + refresh token obtained).
  3. Click Next.

Step 4: SmartAPI login.

Step 5 — Finish setup

  1. Click Finish Setup to save the broker account.
  2. Confirm on My Brokers.

Step 5: Complete setup.
